I am curious if anyone who has a blog can answer a couple questions?

Do you feel a blog can be used as an effective marketing tool?

If so can you expand on why and what success you have had using one and for what purpose.

I feel it can if its set up right.

A blog in all intents and purposes can effectively replace a regular web portal.  

I converted one of our sites to a straight blog and will be using it in advertising soon.  I had to play with the set up but found that the look turned out pretty good and I can advertise several items in a category or just one at a time.

There are always some, whom you can never let go of. Do you remember them justly or do you degrade their memory?

Yes it is if it was updated daily and was optimized.  If you have submitted it to different blog directories and participating in forums, then you could get a lot of visitors while advertising your site.
