Post Affiliate Programs Stealing Publishers Money

Have I got your attention yet? It seems since Value Click took over Commission Junction some not so nice little changes were snuck in that they didn’t bother to notify anyone about.

It seems they have snuck in a  little clause into their User Agreement that they will put your account on Dormant status if you don’t generate a sale in 6 months. I logged into my account yesterday to find:

Current Balance (November, 2008)
Beginning Balance $9.51 USD
Commissions $0.00 USD
Fees ($9.51) USD
Publisher Payments $0.00 USD
Total $0.00 USD

It seems lately I have seen one rash of occurences after another with affiliate programs taking my money.

Clicksor a few months back cancelled my account due to my site not having enough traffic. Well on top of them cancelling my account they charged a fee of $4.50 to process a Paypal payment to my account. They cancelled my account. Why should I pay 1/2 of what I had in my account to receive money I had earned?

Paypopup (which is affiliated with Clicksor) has changed their terms this past two years from $25 payout to $50 Payout to $100 payout. All about the time I reached the payout amount. To add to it they removed the option for anyone generating under x amount of traffic to promote their slide in ads and banners. So they reduced the way to even earn paout.

I have spent the last year trying to earn the $100 payout so I may cancel my account after being paid. It is getting ridiculous that these programs can change like this and get away with it.

On another forum someone ask why Publishers were allowing them to get away with this. Geee could it be "Because They Can". I am not sure what can be done other then cancelling accounts with Affiliate programs that sneak in clauses and charge fees for not being active.

It amazes me more that they are charging huge fees to these advertisers to have thier ads on their program and now penalizing Publishers if they don't generate a sale. Other then placing thier ads on my site I can't force someone to signup for something or make a purchase, but now I am being punished for promoting and not generating a sale?

I am just shaking my head in disqust.
